World Cup 2010, Germany Vs. Ghana Group D Match Highlights

Germany is through to the second round at the FIFA World Cup following a 1-0 win over Ghana Wednesday in Johannesburg.

Australia defeated Serbia 2-1 in the other Group D game Wednesday in Nelspruit, but Ghana still beat out the Aussies for second place (behind Germany) and a spot in the round of 16.

Ghana keeper Richard Kingson made a fine stop early doors against Germany to prevent Mensah from scoring an own goal from a Podolski cross. Kingson also made a fine save from Ozil on a one-on-one chance. 

The breakthrough came on the hour mark, Mesut Ozil directed a rocket past Kingson and into the top left corner to put Germany in front.
