Retail inflation rises after wholesale inflation, retail inflation is 2.36 percent in July

During the month of July on the inflation front, the common man could not find relief. After the wholesale inflation this month, retail inflation has also seen an increase. In July, the retail price has increased from 1.54 percent in June to 2.36 percent. In July, retail inflation was estimated to be 2 percent.


       
Core inflation has increased from 3.8 per cent to 3.9 per cent in July on a month-on-month basis. June retail inflation has been revised up to 1.46 percent from 1.54 percent. On a month-on-month basis, the food inflation has increased from -2.12 per cent to -0.29 per cent in July. Apart from this, the inflation in urban areas has increased from 1.41 percent to 2.17 percent in July on a month-on-month basis. Meanwhile, in July, the rate of inflation in rural areas has increased from 1.59 per cent to 2.41 per cent on a month-on-month basis.
