Cincinnati Bengals wideout Chris Henry is on life support after falling out of the back of a truck in North Carolina, and the situation is listed as "dire," according to FOXSports.com. The report says Henry jumped into the back of a pickup truck which was being driven away by his finacee. Henry was found on the road having suffered life-threatening injuries.

Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan told the Associated Press the following:

"We are aware he was in an accident and that his injuries are very serious. We are obviously staying in touch with the situation and are ready to offer whatever assistance we can."

Henry was transported to Carolinas Medical Center. Any Twitter reports saying that Henry has died (apparently there is a fake one purported to be from Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News) are inaccurate. As of 4:25 PM Pacific Time on Wednesday, NFL Network is reporting that Henry is still alive.

Henry was placed on injured reserve with a broken forearm he suffered in a Nov. 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens. He is in the last year of his new Bengals contract -- he was previously released by the team as his troubled past caught up to him.
