Rolls Royce 'Ghost' launched in India Priced 2.5 Crore

British super-luxury car manufacturer, Rolls Royce, unveiled an all-new, four-door, premium saloon model called the Ghost  in New Delhi on Friday. It is priced at about Rs 2.5 crore each and will be available in the country in the second quarter of 2010.

The ‘Ghost’ is  priced at Rs 2.5 crore, the bookings for the car have begun but the deliveries will only be in the 1st quarter of 2010.

Observing the number of high networth individuals  growing in India, (those with cash or assets of over $30 million) which are around 1,000, the company plans to sell 75 cars in 2010.

The company regional director for Asia Pacific Mr Colin Kelly said  ”We expect to sell 75 cars in 2010 in India, of which Ghost will comprise 50-60 units”.

Rolls Royce sold 1,212 cars last year and should sell this year around 1,000 cars. Led by India and China, the Asian market is the fastest growing market for Rolls Royce.

“We are looking at India’s long term potential,” Mr Kelly said.

Next year, after the roll out of the Ghost, the company hopes to sell around 70 Rolls Royce cars in the domestic market, 60 being the Ghost and the rest being Phantoms. The latter costs about Rs 3.5 crore each.
