IPL to become world's most expensive cricket property

 Indian Premier League has got a new media partner in the form of Star India. The total cost of all types of bids, which the media giant Rupert Murdoch has set up, will have a total cost of around Rs. 16,347.50 crores ($ 2.55 billion) for the next five years. Murdoch's group has bought the Global Media Rights of IPL, in this race, he has over a dozen media veterans, including Facebook, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Sony chief.
                                                          
Star India's global bid was more than the highest total bid in seven categories. It was Rs. 15,819.51 crores which is 3.3 percent more. Star India, which was the only claimant to present a global bid, would have to pay Rs 54.5 crore per match. With this, the IPL will become the world's most expensive cricket property. Star India also holds the rights in matches played by the BCCI in India, under the contract, pays 43 crores per match. The BCCI has the ownership of the IPL and it operates it.
