LPG, kerosene, jewelery and currency are included in those items which are exempt from taking electronic permit in the transport under the goods and services tax GST system. The GST system in the country has been implemented from July 1. In the GST system, if the goods worth more than Rs. 50,000 are sent from one state to another, the provision of e-bills has been made so that tax evasion can be monitored.
A senior finance ministry official said that in the last meeting of the GST Council on August 5, 153 items of common need have been exempted from the need for e-bill. These include fruits and vegetables, fresh milk, honey, seeds, cereals and flour, fish etc.
