Now Aadhaar Card Compulsory for Opening EPF Pension Scheme

Modi government has made Aadhaar cards compulsory for all individual to receive provident funds, irrespective of the fact that whether the individual works in a big organisation or in any government department.

Aadhaar card number is mandatory for 2.5 crore members of the Employees’ Pension Scheme of 1995, one of the benefits available to Employees’ Provident Fund subscribers.

The subsidy, equivalent to 1.16 per cent of the employee’s salary upto ₹6,500, paid by the Centre towards the EPS, will no longer be credited till the Aadhaar number is shared with the authorities.




Aadhaar card is also made mandatory for people who are taking benefits from different government policies inclusive of middle class families and individuals who receive a certain amount of salary on a regular/monthly basis and even for all those citizen who are receiving their pension income as well as the retirement savings. 

This is to remember that government has now terminated all these financial services in case an individual is not having his/ her Aadhaar card with him/her.
