Chris Gayle Triple Century, West Indies vs Sri Lanka (Wi vs Sl) 1st Test Match Live Score

 Chris Gayle was the hero on day 2 as well scoring 333 runs and really helping West Indies put up a big total on the board.

Gayle etched his name in history when he became just the fourth batsman after Bradman, Lara and Sehwag to make two 300-plus scores in Tests

That's stumps on day 2 of the first Test. The final session by far was the most enthralling one with wickets tumbling for West Indies. 

The visitors did well today though raking up a score of 580/9 before they finally declared. Sri Lanka did well to restrict the visitors to a score below 600 and did they it courtesy the magic of Ajatnha Mendis. Both sides will be happy with the day's progress. 

 

For Sri Lanka the pick of the bowlers were the two spinners Mendis and Randiv with figures of 6/169 and 3/183 respectively. Sri Lanka stuttered a little with their start losing Dilshan early to debutant Andre Russell but Sangakkara came out there and held his side together hitting some prolific shots. 

Sri Lanka finished the day at 54/1 and will want to continue their solid start tomorrow. So tomorrow should make for an interesting 3rd day of Test cricket where both sides will be looking to get their nose ahead.
