Google Doodle Celebrates The Flintstones' 50th BirthDay

Search Engine Giant Google is Celebrating "The Flintstones," America's first prime-time animated sitcom, first aired on ABC-TV on Sept. 30, 1960.

The Flintstones doodle is currently live in New Zealand, Fiji and a few nations in the Pacific ocean, places where it is already September 30. As the clock strikes 12:00 in other places, the doodle should go live there as well.

"The Simpsons," "King of the Hill," "Family Guy" and many others no doubt owe a debt of gratitude to the trailblazing prehistoric series. In fact, until 1997, when "The Simpsons" surpassed it, "The Flintstones" held the record as the longest-running prime-time animated series.
