Sensex closed 79 points down at 31592

Key indices Sensex and Nifty closed with a decline of nearly quarter-fourths The Sensex closed 79 points down at 31592 and the Nifty closed at the level of 9888 with a loss of 26 points. Banking, FMCG and auto index closed with decline. Talking about giant stocks, Oro Pharma, Ambuja Cement, NTPC, Yes Bank and Coal India are among the top gainers in the Nifty stocks. At the same time, shares of Tech Mahindra, Infratel, Power Grid, Hind Petro and ICICI Bank were in the declining shares. Tech Mahindra fell by a whopping 3.24 percent. Infratel closed at 2.87 per cent, power grid 1.94 per cent, Hind Petro 1.83 per cent and ICICI Bank down 1.48 per cent.
