Virginia Tech Shooting, Third Anniversary

On April 16, 2007, police in Blacksburg, Virginia responded to the deadliest rampage by a single gunman in US history.
 
On Friday 16th April 2010 Virginia Tech students and the community will gather to remember those who died in shooting. The Virginia Tech massacre was a school shooting which took place in 2007 in which 27 Virginia Tech students and five teachers were killed. 


The gunman was 23-year-old Virginia Tech student Seung-Hui Cho killed 32 people in two separate attacks before committing suicide. Seung-Hui Cho was suffering from anxiety disorder and he received therapy and support during his middle and high school years. When he got admission at Virginia Tech after completing his graduation from high school Virginia Tech was not informed of Cho’s previous diagnosis.

Several events will be held at the school Friday, in remembrance of the students and teachers who were killed, Including a 3.2 mile run, that will start on campus right by the Virginia Tech flag.

A candlelight vigil will also be held later in the afternoon on the drill-field.

All classes are cancelled for the day.
