Patrick Tracy Burris Serial Killer Shot Death By Police

The man suspected of being the South Carolina serial killer who murdered 5 people was shot to death by police investigating a burglary in Gastonia, NC. 41 year old Patrick Tracy Burris was shot and killed by police. He was identified as the same individual responsible for the murders of 5 people near Gaffney, South Caroline as police matched the bullets in the suspects gun to those used in the SC murders through ballistics tests.

Burris was a known to police as a repeat offender. It was reported that at the time of his death, he had a criminal record over 25 pages in length.

The second victims were found in their family’s small furniture and appliance shop in the small town of Gaffney, South Carolina (in Cherokee County). Stephen Tyler, 45, was killed, and his 15-year-old daughter Abby was shot and seriously injured.

He lived about 120 miles northwest of Gaston County, where he was shot, and 150 miles north of Gaffney, South Carolina, where he committed his murder spree.

He committed many crimes in many different states, in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Maryland and Virginia. He was wanted on a warrant for being a habitual felon at the time he was killed.

He had a 25 page rap sheet from multiple robberies, breaking and entering, burglary, possession of stolen property, forgery and traffic offenses. Quite a bit of his rap sheet is available on the Net.
